Language Development
Students develop balanced foundational language skills: they are able to listen to and understand classroom instructions as well as simple everyday conversations; use short phrases and express themselves in complete sentences in familiar situations; recognize basic phonics patterns to read words and short sentences; and copy and write simple words and sentences related to themselves.
In addition, students build a vocabulary of approximately 400 words along with basic grammatical structures, gradually developing confidence when communicating with peers in pairs or small groups. This prepares them well to progress toward the Cambridge Starters (Pre-A1) level.
